Between them, they played two lovely 45 minute sets, including some self-written songs and tunes; traditional English and Swedish material; and a few songs with 'joining in bits', such as 'Billy Boy', 'The 'Ampton Railway' and 'Follow me Home' from their latest CD. All in all, a lovely and varied concert which showed us why Vicki & Jonny are in such great demand around the clubs and festivals.
The concert was followed by an hour or so (we over-ran a little) of singing, music and stories from the audience. At least half of the concert-goers (and Vicki & Jonny) stayed to perform or to listen, which was very encouraging and just what we hoped for. Special thanks go to Karen Harris and Bill Wilkes who started off the second and third sessions respectively. There was, once again, a great variety of performances, including a story, a joke, a bit of music hall, and a very special moment for a young visitor called Lucy who played smallpipes in a duet with Vicki.
More pipes - Spanish this time, and very loud - put in a performance later in the session.
