The Young'Uns
The Boot Hill Toe Tappers
Friday 20th January 2012

January saw another new venture for the Poppy Folk Club - a Friday night concert. A proper concert with a support act and a great main act! When the Poppy & Pint offered us the opportunity to have the room for an odd extra night we jumped at the chance to book the The Young'Uns, and it was a great choice - the room was full to capacity and the three lads from Teesside responded with a terrific night of singing. In really excellent form, they gave us two sets full of accompanied and unaccompanied harmony singing, self-penned and traditional songs, and witty humour.

To get the evening started in style, we had a smashing support act in the The Boot Hill Toe Tappers - Nottingham's only six-piece duo! This pair knows no boundaries, playing and singing (and tapping) a range of folk, blues and Cajun material, finishing up with a sing-along 'King of the Swingers'.

So, yet another excellent night at the Poppy Folk Club, thanks to some great musicians and a great audience. Come back on February 19th for more top-quality music from Bryony Griffith & Will Hampson!

This was an extra concert organised by The Poppy Folk Club.
