We were sorry to have had to announce that the Poppy Folk Day on Sunday 22nd March was cancelled. This had been a very difficult decision which we took after careful consideration of the current and predicted coronavirus situation, developing official advice, the availability of musicians, and the well-being of our audiences.
To give people something to do on the day as an alternative, Phil put together a TV show with some footage from previous folk days, previous concert nights, and some video clips sent in by various members of the folk club organising committee and by some of the performers who were to have taken part in the afternoon concerts at the folk day.
We already have a date for next year's Folk Day, 21st March 2021, and have asked all the afternoon musicians if they will play for us then, so in effect we are aiming to reschedule the afternoon to next year. We are working with Faustus to reschedule their concert, but don't yet have a date.
Tickets for the evening concert with Faustus will be valid for the rescheduled date. You can hold onto your ticket, with the option of requesting a refund if you find in due course that you cannot make the new date. Or request a refund now if you prefer.
All Day Tickets and afternoon tickets will be refunded.
If you have bought tickets through WeGotTickets, you will get your refund direct from the site.
We will announce the new date for Faustus on our website and Facebook pages, and by email to our club list. If you are not on our email list and would like to go on, let Juliet know when you arrange your refund. In addition, if you are a Faustus ticket holder who has kept their ticket, we will contact you individually when the new date is set.
If you do not hear from us about your refund (and we do not have contact details for everyone) email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange it. We are so sorry that it has come to this.
It is a terrible time for musicians, financially, and if you felt like using your ticket refund to buy one of our performer's CDs from their websites, that would be of some help to them. All of us on the club committee are very disappointed, but glad to be virus free at the moment, and we hope you and your families and friends remain well too.
