A Human Jukebox
Lady Bay Open Gardens
Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st July 2013
The Lady Bay Open Gardens weekend is a highly popular local event now in its 22nd year. The event is run by the local FIELDS campaign group which helps preserve the area of green belt land around Lady Bay. This year proceeds from the gardens event are going to the local community fund which benefits many local projects and groups, and individual gardens are also supporting various other charities and good causes. The Poppy Folk Club will be presenting 'A Human Jukebox' in the garden at 131 Holme Road. All proceeds will go to the Notts Wildlife Trust.
The jukebox was designed and constructed for us by local artist Rod Bailey. The idea is that each performer writes out a list of songs or tunes that they can perform, and give each one a number. Visitors can then put a coin in a slot and choose a number. The person inside the jukebox will then perform that song for them.
We have various ideas for the future use of the jukebox. If you would like the jukebox at your event, or would just like more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
See here for details of where and when the jukebox will next be out and about.
