A Human Jukebox
Sunday 9th September 2012
After the great success at The Lady Bay Open Gardens, we were asked to take the jukebox to the new Musters Road Open Gardens event. The West Bridgford Social Singers did the first stint for an hour or so, followed by singers and musicians from The Poppy Folk Club. All proceeds collected went to the Friary Drop-in Centre.
The jukebox was designed and constructed for us by local artist Rod Bailey. The idea is that each performer writes out a list of songs or tunes that they can perform, and give each one a number. Visitors can then put a coin in a slot and choose a number. The person inside the jukebox will then perform that song for them.
We have various ideas for the future use of the jukebox. If you would like the jukebox at your event, or would just like more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
See here for details of where and when the jukebox will next be out and about.
