A Human Jukebox
Lady Bay Arts Festival
Saturday 19th May 2012
In 2012 The Lady Bay Arts Festival was held on the weekend of 19th/20th May, and the Poppy Folk Club was asked if we would like to participate in some way within this event. This weekend was also the first anniversary of the club, and we had planned a series of concerts on the Sunday. For the Saturday, we came up with the idea for an arts installation: 'A Human Jukebox'. Local artist Rod Bailey designed and constructed the jukebox for us. The idea was that each performer would write out a list of songs or tunes that they could perform, and would give each one a number. Visitors to the festival then put a coin in a slot and chose a number. The person inside the jukebox then performed that song for them. All proceeds were given to the Notts Wildlife Trust.
We have various ideas for the future use of the jukebox. If you would like the jukebox at your event, or would just like more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
See here for details of where and when the jukebox will next be out and about.
