Two fine young solo musicians are sharing the evening for this first Poppy indoor concert since January 2020!
Based in North Wales, Ben Robertson is a wonderful and captivating fingerstyle guitarist and singer, performing instrumentals and songs from across the folk tradition. His repertoire includes Celtic and European guitar arrangements, and traditional and contemporary songs. We've seen him enthrall audiences at folk clubs and festivals.
We have been looking for an opportunity to bring Oswestry-based musician Phoebe Rees to the Poppy since we saw her at Upton Festival a few years ago. We loved her modest style, belying her ability to bring fresh life to well-known songs and tunes. Phoebe sings and accompanies herself on the fiddle, viola and guitar, combining elements of Celtic, English and American Folk traditions into her music.
Both of these performers have kept themselves busy during the pandemic creating online musical offerings, and have collaborated on occasion to excellent effect. We are promised one or two duets on the night!
We plan to limit this gathering to a MAXIMUM OF 50 PEOPLE. To keep control of numbers you will need to please BOOK IN ADVANCE!
We will endeavour to maximise airflow and seat spacing, and you are very welcome to wear a face covering if you wish. Of course, you should stay at home if you develop any Covid19 symptoms
